# Newcastle: PIF “still love” £60M “game-changing” star

Newcastle United “still love” Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, who was a target for the club during the summer window.

That is according to transfer insider [Dean Jones](https://www.givemesport.com/88081339-newcastle-transfer-news-pif-target) who has informed [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/88081339-newcastle-transfer-news-pif-target) of Newcastle’s desire to sign the star as we venture ever closer to the January transfer window.

Diaby is a player that the club and PIF still greatly admire.

On the matter, Jones told [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/88081339-newcastle-transfer-news-pif-target): *“I’ve spoken a lot about this. I know for a fact that they do still love Diaby, and it’s no surprise because he’s got that game-changing potential. He’s got something different about him from most players in the Premier League.”*

**“Game-changing potential”**

The statement regarding Diaby’s potential is spot on from Jones.

The 23-year-old arrived at Leverkusen in the 19/20 season as a left-winger and was eased into the role of right-wing, which is now his primary position in the side, due to his left-footed inverted approach out wide.

It’s in this position that the star shines brightest, as illustrated by his staggering return of 25 goal contributions in the form of [13 goals](https://www.fotmob.com/players/923498/moussa-diaby) and [12 assists](https://www.fotmob.com/players/923498/moussa-diaby).

The [£60million](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/07/05/newcastle-frustrated-moussa-diaby-price-supporter-excitement/) star has carried that sensational form into this campaign and currently sits on [six goals and three assists](https://www.fotmob.com/players/923498/moussa-diaby) in 15 Bundesliga appearances.

At just 23-years-old, it is clear that Diaby’s ceiling is limitless. So it’s entirely understandable as to why PIF “still love” the transfer target.
