Newcastle United can usurp their rivals and finish in the Premier League’s top four this season.
That is according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who has backed the Tyneside outfit to qualify for the Champions League in the short term.
The insider is impressed with Newcastle’s chart-topping defensive record and believes there is no reason why the club cannot finish in the top four – the position they currently occupy.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “Honestly, at this point I don’t see any reason why they don’t end fourth. Defensively they’ve obviously proven themselves.
“Eddie Howe as a tactician is very good, but also as a man manager and the performances he’s getting out of some of these players is really impressive.”
A game-changing prediction
It goes without saying, Newcastle United do not look out of place in the modern-day top four and are good value for their position, boasting the best defence in the league, conceding just 10 goals so far.
Despite possessing a transfer kitty that could blow nearby competition out of the water, the Magpies have been astute in their decision-making so far and have built a solid foundation with a humble, yet technical cast in defence.
Howe’s efforts as a tactician has seen Pep Guardiola wax lyrical over the side, stating that “Newcastle are already there” [in the fight for the Premier League title].
With their progressive approach and solid backline, there is no reason why the Toon cannot skip a few steps and qualify for the Champions League this season, which would make for a massive opportunity to lure some of Europe’s biggest names to the exciting Saudi-led project in the summer.
