# Newcastle United eye “ambitious” January transfer window

Newcastle United will look to be “ambitious” throughout the fast-approaching winter transfer window.

That is according to [transfer expert](https://twitter.com/DeanJonesSoccer) Dean Jones, who has informed [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/88078027-newcastle-ambitious-transfer-window-rumours-st-james-park) of the Tyneside club’s desires to bring in a couple of squad-bolstering new recruits in January.

**What’s the word?**

The journalist claims that he would not be shocked if the Magpies made two ambitious signings in the upcoming transfer window.

Speaking to [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/88078027-newcastle-ambitious-transfer-window-rumours-st-james-park), Jones said: *“I see no reason why it won’t continue. Newcastle will look to be ambitious in the January transfer window. I don’t think they’ll go mad, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they bring in one or two.”*

**The right way**

The way in which Newcastle have handled their [enormous wealth](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiy9vzl84z7AhWNWMAKHX7KDi4QFnoECCkQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailystar.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Fnewcastle-takeover-bin-salman-worth-25162838&usg=AOvVaw0AgZZqKu6wXfIrknAg16dq) under PIF’s ownership is admirable and demonstrates that the club are in safe hands as they look to build towards long-term sustained success.

Although they could theoretically snap up elite level talent with their seemingly limitless wealth, they have stuck to a logical, low-risk strategy which has seen Alexander Isak emerge as the most expensive coup of their [£122m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/newcastle-united/transfers/verein/762) summer spend – and that was after the foundations of the squad had already been put in place.

Furthermore, the club’s hierarchy are [very much conscious of](https://theathletic.com/3295092/2022/05/07/newcastle-and-ffp-why-they-wont-become-the-new-manchester-city-overnight/) wanting to abide by Financial Fair Play regulations so that they are not met with punishment further down the line. So far, it seems to be a case of utilising their spending power to good effect while still keeping it within control.

It’s a promising time for Newcastle as they look to bolster the squad further in the January transfer window amid a prosperous Premier League campaign which currently sees them occupy a Champions League berth.
