Newcastle United are confident that their Tyneside talisman Bruno Guimaraes will extend his stay at St James’ Park.
That is according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who has informed GIVEMESPORT of the significance regarding a contract extension for their Brazil international in wake of extensive interest.
Jones understands that there is growing confidence over the 24-year-old putting pen to paper for increased terms, consequently snubbing potential suitors in Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Insider said: “I think it just underlines the progress that they’re making.
“I think it’s important to point out that Newcastle think he will sign this deal. There’s not too much concern over it and the player is loving life at Newcastle.”
A big behind-scenes deal
Since his arrival from Lyon in the winter transfer window, Guimaraes has been integral to Eddie Howe’s side, quickly becoming the string-puller in the engine room, having averaged a total of 47.3 accurate passes per 90 in the Premier League this season.
The £120k-per-week star has also chipped in with direct attacking contributions – conjuring up a total of four, split between two goals and two assists in ten league appearances so far this season.
All in all, his efforts have seen him endure a rapid rise to become the “main man” according to talkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy who also adds that “he’s tenacious, can pick a pass & score” deeming him “the number 1 signing!”
With Guimaraes, you can essentially name any outfield metric and he is almost guaranteed to rank in the top three in comparison to the Magpies’ squad – he’s that important!
Extending Guimaraes’ stay at St James’ Park could be key to Newcastle’s long-term success, with the Brazilian providing a sturdy foundation in the middle of the park to great effect.
This could be a big behind-scenes deal for Howe and co.
