Newcastle United can make use of their sporting director Dan Ashworth’s links to bring Leandro Trossard to St James’ Park.
That is according to journalist Pete O’Rourke who has informed GIVEMESPORT of Newcastle’s increased chances of signing the Brighton star, with Ashworth’s connections to his previous employers a vital part in potential “open dialogue” between the two sides.
The journalist is convinced that the two clubs are in contact due to previous dealings that have taken place.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, O’Rourke said: “I’m sure there is open dialogue between Brighton and Newcastle considering the previous deals that have gone on between the two clubs, not just Dan Ashworth but also Dan Burn as well. I’m sure Dan Ashworth would be hoping that his links with the club might help them in any future pursuit of Leandro Trossard.”
A smart deal?
The acquisition of Trossard would be a no-brainer for the Newcastle hierarchy, especially at the mooted price point of £25million.
The 27-year-old Belgian international has wowed more than usual this season, having endured a stellar start to the new campaign which has seen him net six goals in Brighton’s first 11 games.
Not even in his prime yet, Trossard could be a real force to be reckoned with for years to come under the guidance of Eddie Howe.
