Newcastle United star Miguel Almiron has got the “bit between his teeth” according to insider Dean Jones.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones believes that the £42k-per-week star is finally fulfilling his potential at St James’ Park.
The insider also states that the signs were there originally, but bad form hindered his chances to perform, with this season proving to be completely different.
Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “Almiron’s finally got that confidence that he’s been waiting for his entire Newcastle career.
“Anyone that’s seen him play before he got there would have known what he’s capable of, but he just didn’t really get the opportunity to show it because he just wasn’t going through good enough runs of form and now he’s got it.
“He’s got that bit between his teeth; he believes in himself and he’s able to showcase what he’s capable of.”
A Stellar Start for Almiron
Paraguayan international Almiron has got off to a stellar start, scoring six goals from his first 12 Premier League games in a run that has seen him better his total of five goals from the last two seasons combined.
The 28-year-old is currently the Toon’s top goalscorer, which will come as a major surprise to fans who focused in on his one goal return in the league last term.
But, with this newfound confidence, amidst Howe’s tactical innovation at St James’ Park, we are seeing a similar figure to the asset that burst onto the scene with Atlanta United in the MLS, during his 24-goal-return season.
13 of those returns in that campaign were goals, with Almiron currently on track to beat this career-high league total this season.
