# Kieran Trippier impressed v Wolves

Newcastle United came from behind late in the game to [draw 1-1 with Wolverhampton Wanderers](https://www.nufc.co.uk/matches/first-team/2022-23/wolverhampton-wanderers-v-newcastle-united/) on Sunday afternoon and Kieran Trippier was one of many players to impress.

The 31-year-old started at right-back and was a constant threat offensively with regular balls into the box, but he also did a job defensively, keeping Jonny from completing a dribble or creating a chance while limiting Pedro Neto to just one shot on target and getting him substituted late in the game.

*Lee Ryder* of [Chronicle Live](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-player-ratings-wolves-24875697) gave Trippier a player rating of 7/10 and said he was a ‘big influence’ going forward. *Dominic Scurr* of [Shields Gazette](https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-player-ratings-ps20m-man-couldnt-be-faulted-but-invisible-teammate-410-v-wolves-3822395) gave him a player rating of 7/10 and praised him for being a ‘threat’ down the right flank.

[Against Wolves](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1640713/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2022-2023-Wolverhampton-Newcastle), Trippier played for 90 minutes, had 77 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 76% of his 50 passes, created two chances, whipped in 13 crosses, made two tackles, had two clearances, won one freekick and made one successful dribble.

Trippier has made [five appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kieran-trippier/leistungsdaten/spieler/95810) in all competitions this season, scoring one goal with one assist. He can be pleased with his performance over the weekend.
