# Newcastle could make £10.5m selling Jeff Hendrick

The writing appears to be on the wall for Jeff Hendrick. The 30-year-old struggled for playing time earlier in the season and was eventually loaned out to Queens Park Rangers. [Hendrick didn’t impress enough to earn himself a permanent deal at Loftus Road either](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-jeff-hendrick-loan-23928171), so it’s hard to see Newcastle recalling him.

Eddie Howe already [prefers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/newcastle-united/ausfallzeiten/verein/762) Bruno Guimarães, Joe Willock, Jonjo Shelvey and Sean Longstaff over the Republic of Ireland international and is expected to bolster his engine room this summer, so there could be a lot of players standing in his way next season.

Hendrick [joined](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeff-hendrick/transfers/spieler/148262) Newcastle on a four-year deal from Burnley and has gone on to make [27 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeff-hendrick/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/148262) in all competitions, scoring three goals with one assist. The 30-year-old has made only [three Premier League appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeff-hendrick/leistungsdaten/spieler/148262) this season due to stiff competition, so he was loaned to QPR in a bid to find some form.

Hendrick [struggled](https://readnewcastle.com/2022/03/31/jeff-hendricks-newcastle-united-exit-has-gone-badly-at-queens-park-rangers/) at QPR, however, so his stock may have fallen this summer. But if Newcastle can drum up interest, his sale could make them £10.5m – a [market value](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeff-hendrick/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148262) of £6.3m and £2.1m-a-year [wages](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/newcastle-united-fc/jeff-hendrick-22714/) until 2024. Whether a club is commit that much money for an out-of-favour 30-year-old remains to be seen, however.
