# Fans on social media praise ‘excellent’ Kieran Trippier for ‘fantastic’ showing

[Newcastle United enjoyed a 1-0 win over Leeds United](https://www.nufc.co.uk/matches/first-team/2021-22/leeds-united-v-newcastle-united/) on Saturday afternoon and Kieran Trippier was one of many players to shine at Elland Road, earning himself a player rating of 8/10 [Chronicle Live](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leeds-newcastle-player-ratings-shelvey-22840683).

The 31-year-old was effective in both penalty areas, turning over possession more than any of his teammates while whipping in more accurate crosses than his teammates too, so fans on [social media](https://twitter.com/search?q=trippier&src=typed_query&f=live) praised his performance.

> Trippier and Fraser were excellent throughout today, Willock an absolute machine in that second half. Subs who had to come on were fantastic. Not a single bad player on the pitch, just a really good team performance. [#NUFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/NUFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

> Schar, Manquillo, Trippier, Longstaff, Shelvey… all brilliant. I almost forgot about Dubravka who was low key contender for MOTM. [#NUFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/NUFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#LEENEW](https://twitter.com/hashtag/LEENEW?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)
