# Fans on social media laud ‘class’ Martin Dubravka for ‘excellent’ performance

Newcastle United picked up only their second win of the season after [beating Leeds United 1-0 at Elland Road](https://www.nufc.co.uk/matches/first-team/2021-22/leeds-united-v-newcastle-united/) on Saturday afternoon and Martin Dubravka was one of many players who impressed between the sticks.

The 33-year-old has come in for a lot of criticism in 2021/22 but was at his best over the weekend and deserved his player rating of 8/10 by [Chronicle Live](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leeds-newcastle-player-ratings-shelvey-22840683). Fans on [social media](https://twitter.com/search?q=dubravka&src=typed_query&f=live) laud Dubravka’s contribution too.

> Schar, Manquillo, Trippier, Longstaff, Shelvey… all brilliant. I almost forgot about Dubravka who was low key contender for MOTM. [#NUFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/NUFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#LEENEW](https://twitter.com/hashtag/LEENEW?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

> Dubravka was absolutely class tonight, some great saves, calm on the ball, I was impressed by how he progressed and slowed the game down to [#nufc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/nufc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) advantage. Best game so far.\
> Well done.
