# Fans on social media say ‘useless’ Ryan Fraser is ‘not good enough’

Ryan Fraser [joined](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-fraser/transfers/spieler/146795) Newcastle United on a five-year deal in the summer of 2020 but hasn’t had the desired impact at St James’ Park. The 27-year-old has been short of goals and assists in the North-East and isn’t commanding a starting place this season.

Fraser came off the bench in [Sunday’s 4-0 defeat to Leicester City](https://www.nufc.co.uk/matches/first-team/2021-22/leicester-city-v-newcastle-united/) but had little impact at the King Power Stadium and was given a player rating of 5/10 by [Chronicle Live](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-player-ratings-leicester-22438657) as a result. Fans on [social media](https://twitter.com/search?q=ryan%20fraser%20&src=recent_search_click&f=live) criticised the out-of-form wide-man too and questioned what he brings to the side.

> [@nellbergcricket](https://twitter.com/nellbergcricket?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) Ryan Fraser another useless pointless player.

The Scotland international has made [34 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-fraser/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/146795) in all competitions for Newcastle, scoring one goal with four assists. He endured an injury-hit debut campaign, suffering hamstring and groin problems, which limited his playing time to just [926/3420 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-fraser/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/146795/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/762) of Premier League football.

This season, Fraser has made [12 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-fraser/leistungsdaten/spieler/146795) across the board but has only started five times, grabbing one assist. He’s amassed 431/1080 minutes of football in all competitions and is yet to get on the scoresheet. Fans aren’t happy with Fraser’s output in a Magpies shirt and Eddie Howe won’t be either.
