Newcastle United finally picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, beating Burnley 1-0 at St James’ Park, and Martin Dubravka was one of many players that came away with praise for his performance. The 32-year-old kept his first clean sheet of the campaign since his return from injury and was given a player rating of 8/10 by Chronicle Live.
Dubravka had been out of action with a foot injury until the end of October and sat on the bench for a few games before getting the nod between the sticks at the end of November. The Slovakian international has started Newcastle’s last three Premier League outings and was lauded on social media by supporters for his latest showing.

The 32-year-old missed Newcastle’s first 12 games in the top-flight as he made his recovery but is now one of the first names on the teamsheet. He’s racked up a total of 106 appearances since joining from Sparta Prague in 2018 and has four years remaining on his deal.
