# Fans on social media laud ‘quality’ Joelinton for ‘class’ performance

[Newcastle United rescued a point at home to Brentford](https://www.nufc.co.uk/matches/first-team/2021-22/newcastle-united-v-brentford/) on Saturday afternoon and Joelinton was one of many players who impressed. The 25-year-old, who earned a player rating of 8/10 by [Chronicle Live](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-player-ratings-brentford-joelinton-22223548), got himself on the scoresheet in the first half and could have scored a second in the second half too.

Joelinton has been criticised for his poor scoring record at Newcastle, but he finally got off the mark for the season and put in a performance that will have silenced a lot of critics. Fans on [social media](https://twitter.com/search?q=joelinton&src=typed_query) lauded the Brazilian striker after the 3-3 draw and hope he’ll score more moving forward.

> Really hope someone can tell Joelinton how fantastic people thought he was yesterday like. Wasn't flawless, obviously, but he needs a confidence booster. Was arguably man of the match yesterday.
