# Fans on social media hail ‘brilliant’ Allan Saint-Maximin for ‘sensational’ performance

[Newcastle United drew 3-3 with Brentford on Saturday afternoon](https://www.nufc.co.uk/matches/first-team/2021-22/newcastle-united-v-brentford/) and Allan Saint-Maximin was one of many players who impressed. The 24-year-old scored the equalising goal so Newcastle could rescue a point at St James’ Park and was given a player rating of 8/10 by [Chronicle Live](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-player-ratings-brentford-joelinton-22223548).

Saint-Maximin had gone [five Premier League games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/allan-saint-maximin/leistungsdaten/spieler/272642) without a goal or assist, but he scored from close range after converting a cross in the second half and could have assisted Joelinton for a late winner had the 25-year-old not fluffed his chance.
