Newcastle United will get a good manager to take over the reigns at the club if a takeover happens, claims Shield Gazette reporter Liam Kennedy.
A takeover at the club has been spoken about for many years now, as fans continue to express discontent at their current owner Mike Ashley.
A handful of failed takeover attempts and a lack of investment has led to widespread frustrations amongst the fan base.
Despite the controversy, the Magpies have managed to well and truly cement their place in the Premier League – avoiding the drop on many occasions since their return from the Championship in 2017.
Current Magpies manager Steve Bruce came under intense pressure and scrutiny last season, after a series of losses and poor performances left them drifting around the relegation zone.
However, Bruce managed to steer them to safety towards the end of the season – as they eventually finished 12th in the league table.
Speaking to Read Newcastle, Kennedy shares his thoughts on Newcastle’s current situation: “In short it doesn’t have an impact on the deal because managers are managers as much as players are players. You can go out and get a good manager and you can go out and get a good player, and I’m sure they will do that if they get the green light to sell the football club.”
It seems as though Newcastle are coasting right now with Steve Bruce in management, rather than pushing themselves to compete with the elite of the Premier League.
A takeover at the club could promise a big future for the Magpies and despite keeping Newcastle afloat in the top-flight, Bruce could be shown the exit door if it were to happen soon.
