# Emil Krafth trains with national team, pays tribute to Christian Eriksen

The Premier League season has come to an end, but the campaign isn’t over for Emil Krafth. The 26-year-old was named in Sweden’s 26-man squad for this summer’s European Championships and has a group game on Monday evening to prepare for.

Krafth has kept fans updated on social media with his movements, posting a picture on his [Instagram stories](https://www.instagram.com/stories/emilkrafth/2595294352645785948/) of some players from the national team while paying tribute to Christian Eriksen who suffered a cardiac arrest in Denmark’s defeat to Finland on Saturday.

Krafth [joined](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/emil-krafth/transfers/spieler/184528) Newcastle from Amiens SC in 2019 and has gone on to make [40 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/emil-krafth/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/184528) in all competitions, scoring one goal with one assist. The Swedish international made [20 appearances](https://www.economist.com/britain/2021/03/13/two-conservative-upstarts-aim-to-disrupt-british-tv-news) across the board last season.

Although Krafth didn’t always command a starting place at club level, he’s remained a regular in the national team throughout, featuring in [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/emil-krafth/nationalmannschaft/spieler/184528/verein_id/3557) of their last six outings.

Sweden lock horns with Spain at the Estadio de La Cartuja on Monday night and Krafth should start at right-back. Poland and Slovakia are the other two teams in Group E, so the Swedes have a chance of qualifying.
