# Jamaal Lascelles enjoys summer holiday at the Algarve with family

Jamaal Lascelles wasn’t called up to the England national team for this summer’s European Championships, so he’s able to take a holiday now the season is over. He won’t have to worry about pre-season for a number of weeks and has kept fans updated of his activities on his [Instagram stories](https://www.instagram.com/stories/lascelles16/2591722374897541768/?hl=en).

The 27-year-old went to the Algarve in Portugal with partner Harpinder Rai and their two children, the eldest whom is named Jamari Rai. Lascelles went swimming and had a meal with his family at the Bamboo Restaurant & Bar. Portugal are currently on the [amber list](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57393931) for travel, so the Newcastle centre-back might struggle to get back to the UK after their trip ends.

He made [21 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jamaal-lascelles/leistungsdaten/spieler/183318) in all competitions last season, scoring three goals with one assist. Lascelles endured an injury-hit campaign, spending a period sidelined with muscle fatigue, a thigh strain and a foot injury, so Steve Bruce had to go half the season without him.

Lascelles could do with a good rest over the summer to overcome his injury woes and start the new campaign strongly.
