A number of Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to the latest update from Shields Gazette reporter Liam Kennedy suggesting that any move from Joseph DaGrosa to attempt another takeover bid for the Magpies would prove to be futile.
He doesn't want to pay £200m for #SaintsFC and couldn't come to an agreement with Mike Ashley for #NUFC in 2019 due to cash.
And that's before we get on to the fact MA is not entertaining anyone bar PCP consortium, for now. https://t.co/UU2h8lyR8C

The Magpies are currently still involved in legal proceedings over the proposed £300m takeover of the club by Saudi Arabia-based consortium PCP. That is the only takeover deal Mike Asley is entertaining at the moment despite interest from other parties over the last few months.
Matters on the takeover front have been complicated further by a report from The Athletic outlining that American investor DaGrosa has informed Southampton he is ready to consider buying other Premier League clubs if they do not lower their £200m valuation. Newcastle, alongside Crystal Palace and West Ham, have been named as the other clubs being considered by the entrepreneur.
Newcastle have already seen one takeover attempt by DaGrosa fail to materialise. Kennedy’s latest update on Twitter suggests it is unlikely that the American investor would be able to meet Ashley’s valuation of the Magpies, even if he were to entertain the prospect of another deal outside of the one he is hoping to seal with PCP.
Newcastle fans react to Kennedy’s update on DaGrosa
Many Newcastle fans would be hesitant to see DaGrosa takeover the club and believe this is a deal which would not be able to happen even if another takeover attempt is made by the American investor.
Can’t even afford Southampton so no way he can afford us plus don’t want American owner near us look what happened at Burnley

DaGrosa couldn't agree terms with Ashley in 2019 due to cash concerns. If he buys another PL team, there is the possibility of that club being saddled with debt, similar to Burnley.

Surely Newcastle is worth more and I don't see Ashley dropping is price
— Darren Noonan (@darrennoonan30) February 9, 2021
Complete non-starter. Mike Ashley won't drop his price and if he wasn't able/willing to pay the asking price in 2019 he certainly won't now given the state of football finances all over the world.
