Plenty of Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to a revelation from journalist Oscar Paul that Steve Bruce’s press conference ahead of the Leeds United game will take place without the usual print media and with just the broadcast journalists.
Bruce finds himself under ever-growing scrutiny following a dismal run of form which has now seen them fail to win any of their last 10 matches in all competitions, including last eight Premier League matches. The 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa saw them drop down to 16th place in the table on goal difference and leaves them seven points clear of the relegation zone
There have been reports that Mike Ashley will continue to keep faith in Bruce whilst Newcastle are outside of the bottom three, but at the moment the Magpies are sliding dangerously down the table with little sign of having enough about them to turn things around. The last few weeks have seen increasing questions being asked about his potential future by the press.
It has now been reported that the press conference ahead of the crucial game against Leeds at St James’ Park on Tuesday will take place without the print media and contain just the broadcast and radio reporters, as revealed by Paul on Twitter.
The written media section for Steve Bruce's press conference tomorrow has been scrapped. Radio and broadcasters continue as normal. #NUFC

Newcastle fans react to news over Bruce’s press conference
Many Newcastle fans have been bemused by the developments around the press conference, with some feeling it is a “pathetic” reflection of the pressure under which Bruce is now operating.
The club is toxic from top to bottom

Banning the written media only ends in one way, Bruce is gone now like the pressure is building on him

This actually could be a good sign. The beginning of the end.
