A number of Newcastle United fans have urged the Magpies to make a move for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori following reports from Chronicle Live that they have been offered the chance to take him on loan.
Steve Bruce will need to utilise the loan market in January to strengthen his squad, with the Magpies reportedly having no funds available for any permanent deals. Newcastle have already been linked with a potential move for Manchester United defender Phil Jones, while it has also been previously reported that they could be interested in Tomori.
The defender has struggled to force his way into Chelsea’s starting line-up so far this season, despite having impressed last term by making 1.9 tackles, 2.8 clearances and 1.5 interceptions per game in his 15 Premier League outings (Sofascore). The 23-year-old has only had one Premier League appearance so far in 2020/21 and the Blues may want him to obtain more experience elsewhere.
It has now emerged that the Magpies have been offered the chance to sign Tomori on loan this month, as reported by Chronicle Live. It will therefore be interesting to see whether Bruce decides that the Chelsea centre-back is the right option to bring into his squad as one of the limited loans he has available to him.
Newcastle fans want Tomori in on loan
Many Newcastle fans have urged the Magpies to make a move for Tomori, believing that he has the quality to improve their starting line-up. However, some have questioned whether centre-back should be a priority position in this month’s transfer window.
