Newcastle fans react to Dele Alli loan rumours

A number of Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to reports from The Telegraph suggesting that the Magpies could be interested in taking Dele Alli on loan to St James’ Park in January.

Alli has endured a torrid first half of the season, with the attacking midfielder having been frozen out of the Tottenham side by Jose Mourinho. The 37-cap England international has been limited to just four Premier League appearances so far this term and he was left out of the squad altogether for their 2-0 defeat against Leicester on Sunday (Transfermarkt).

The Telegraph reported that he might be made available to go out on loan when the January transfer window opens. The 24-year-old has been linked with a potential move to Everton, while AS Monaco have also been monitoring his situation, with the Magpies potentially in the market to add Alli to their squad on a temporary basis in January (The Telegraph).

The England star would likely add plenty of qualities to the Magpies’ midfield, and he did score eight goals and register four assists in 25 Premier League appearances last term (Sofascore). The midfielder just needs regular game-time to get his career back on track, something which Newcastle could provide.

Newcastle fans react to Dele Alli rumours

Many Newcastle fans on Twitter feel that signing Alli would make a difference for them, but some suggested that St James’ Park would not be the best place for him and that Bruce’s conservative approach might well put off players of his calibre making the move to Tyneside.
