Newcastle fans react to latest Liam Kennedy takeover update

Many Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to the latest update over the legal challenge issued to the Premier League from the Newcastle Supporters Consortium Limited provided by Shields Gazette reporter Liam Kennedy.

The Newcastle Supporters Consortium Limited issued their legal letter challenging the Premier League over their halting of the proposed £300m takeover of the Magpies, with the letter outlining a challenge that they might have broken UK-anti competition laws over the summer in response to the takeover, per Shields Gazette.

It had been reported that the Premier League had asked Newcastle Supporters Consortium Limited for an extension to the timeframe for their response to the legal letter. However, that request was denied by the consortium with the feeling being that they had enough time to respond to the claims outlined.

Kennedy has now taken to Twitter to suggest that the Premier League are not obliged to respond to the legal letter with their own timeframe for a response coming this Tuesday. However, wheels remain in notion with regards to the legal challenge irrespective of whether or not they do respond and what they say in any response.

Newcastle supporters react to Kennedy’s latest update

Some Magpies supporters were remaining positive over the latest update and believe that Newcastle Supporters Consortium Limited are doing the right thing in not allowing the Premier League to continue to delay proceedings. Others remain hopeful over the potential impact any court challenge could have on the potential takeover.
