# Newcastle Player Ratings: Wolves (A)

A late Jacob Murphy free-kick earned a point for Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United side against Wolves as the two teams [drew 1-1 for the fourth Premier League match](https://www.11v11.com/teams/wolverhampton-wanderers/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Newcastle%20United/) in succession.

Murphy began the match in the rather [unfamiliar role](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jacob-murphy/profil/spieler/199527)of right-wing back in a makeshift looking [Magpies lineup](https://www.skysports.com/football/wolves-vs-newcastle/teams/428896) as Bruce had to go without many of his regular starters.

After a quiet first half, it was the hosts Wolves who took the lead in a game of few clear cut chances with just 10 minutes left when Raul Jimenez broke the deadlock in style with a volley from the edge of the area.

However, with time running out Murphy managed to [squeeze his set-piece](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/12114593/late-murphy-free-kick-denies-wolves) between the inside of the near post and the goalkeeper to salvage a point from the trip to Molineux.

Next up for Newcastle is a home clash with table-topping Everton who earlier on Sunday tasted defeat for the[first time](https://www.skysports.com/everton-results) in 2020/21.

Here’s how we rated the Toon players…
