Newcastle United fans have reacted to a report claiming Liverpool will battle them to sign Boubakary Soumare this summer.
The Magpies reportedly had a record transfer bid rejected for the Frenchman in January with claims stating that the player wanted to remain in Ligue 1 with Lille.
Aged 21, Soumare started his career with Paris Saint Germain, making eight appearances for the Parisien’s B side before a move to Lille in 2017.
Becoming a regular starter for the French side, Soumare has started to attract interest from a number of European and Premier League clubs.
Liverpool are now said to be keen on the French U21 international with boss Jurgen Klopp said to be desperate to land his signature.
ChronicleLIVE also report that Soumare’s transfer fee could now be less than first imagined due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, which is affecting football.
Spanish daily Sport also claim that Real Madrid and Manchester United are keen on the young midfielder.
