# Newcastle fans don’t want the club to re-sign Adam Armstrong

Several Newcastle fans have expressed their disinterest in seeing the club re-sign forward Adam Armstrong in the summer.

[LancsLive](https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/adam-armstrongs-premier-league-interest-17769241) reported earlier this week that the Magpies were interested in re-signing the Blackburn forward, whom they sold to the Championship side in 2018.

Armstrong has impressed for Blackburn this season, having [scored nine goals and assisted six](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adam-armstrong/leistungsdaten/spieler/250426) in 33 league games, form that has sparked interest from a number of Premier League clubs, [according to LancsLive](https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/adam-armstrongs-premier-league-interest-17769241).

[The report](https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/adam-armstrongs-premier-league-interest-17769241) also claims that should Newcastle wish to sign the 23-year old, they can expect to be made to pay an eight-figure fee, with Blackburn unwilling to listen to offers under their valuation as they are under no pressure to sell.

Reacting to the transfer speculation on social media, a number of Magpies supporters were not overly keen to see Armstrong return to St James’ Park, deeming him not at the level needed in the Premier League.
