Several Newcastle fans have called for the club to start young forward Tom Allan in the Premier League instead of Joelinton, after the 20-year continued his terrific goalscoring run earlier this week.
Allan scored the winner in Newcastle Under-23s’ 1-0 Premier League Cup win over West Brom Under-23s on Monday, notching his ninth goal in nine games, and his 13th for the season.
Allan, who made his senior Magpies debut against Rochdale in the FA Cup last month, has impressed for the youth team on Tyneside this season.
Following the game where Allan scored once again, a number of Newcastle supporters called on the club to start the promising star over Brazilian striker Joelinton.
Having signed from Hoffenheim in the summer for £40million, the 22-year old has only managed to score once in 25 Premier League appearances.
Given how underwhelming the powerful forward has been, several fans want to see Allan given a go, expressing as such on social media.
