# Newcastle fans reflect on the anniversary of iconic comeback against Arsenal

Several Newcastle fans have reflected on the club’s nine-year anniversary of their iconic 4-4 draw with Arsenal.

Arsenal were 4-0 up at St James’ Park with half an hour left to play when the Magpies sparked an incredible comeback, with goals coming from Leon Best, two Joey Barton penalty strikes and a jaw-dropping long range volley from the late Cheick Tiote.

The result is [still considered one of the best comebacks](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-united-3-2-newcastle-the-10-greatest-ever-premier-league/gbdlg9ltuxxd1hagl5j90m4d2) in Premier League history, with Arsenal second in the Premier League at the time, while Alan Pardew’s Newcastle side were sitting in mid-table.

[Newcastle tweeted the video of Tiote’s goal to mark the occasion](https://twitter.com/NUFC/status/1224973433869623297), and many fans took to social media to reflect on the historic moment, as well as remember Tiote who [sadly passed away in 2017](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40163322) after collapsing during a training session.
