Newcastle United are reportedly monitoring Olivier Giroud’s future at Chelsea, with the player expected to leave Stamford Bridge before Friday’s deadline.
Chronicle Live report that Steve Bruce is still keen to add to his squad, despite the imminent arrival of Danny Rose on loan from Tottenham.
Chelsea will reportedly let Giroud to leave on loan this week for a fee of just £3 million.

If Newcastle can complete a last-minute deal to bring Giroud in from Chelsea, it could round off what can be seen as a very successful window for Bruce. Should the two deals go through, he will have strengthened at left-back and in attack – two key areas that the club needed to address this month.
Bruce previously talked up his desire to bring in quality and not quantity and he would be doing just that in Rose and Giroud, who boast a combined 408 Premier League appearances between them.
The Northern Echo previously reported that ‘Bruce would like a new left-back and striker on board after Friday’s 11pm transfer deadline’ and Giroud and Rose would tick those two boxes.
Bringing in quality players in the positions that he wants to strengthen, could give Bruce a timely boost as he looks to pull the club further away from the bottom three and secure their Premier League status for another year.
