# Fans delighted with Lazaro due to have Newcastle medical tomorrow

Newcastle have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Valentino Lazaro on loan from Inter.

[According to Sky Sports’ Keith Downie](https://twitter.com/SkySports_Keith/status/1220377839213654016), the player is due to fly into Tyneside tomorrow to undergo his medical ahead of a move to join the club.

[Downie](https://twitter.com/SkySports_Keith/status/1220377839213654016) claims that the Magpies also have the option to sign him permanently for £20 million in the summer.

It had looked like Steve Bruce’s side could miss out on a deal following some late interest from RB Leipzig in Germany. Tuesday’s print edition of [Gazzetta dello Sport](https://www.gazzetta.it/), [as translated by Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/newcastle-target-prefers-move-elsewhere-club-advantage-league-position-factor/), suggested that the player favoured a move to join the Bundesliga side.

Lazaro has struggled for [game time](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/114323/Show/Valentino-Lazaro) in Italy this season and the recent signing of Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11860/11915911/victor-moses-completes-loan-move-to-inter-milan-from-chelsea)) is only going to push him further down the pecking order at the San Siro.

It’s fair to say that [Downie’s](https://twitter.com/SkySports_Keith/status/1220377839213654016) update has got these Newcastle fans on Twitter very excited about his imminent arrival.
