Newcastle have reportedly agreed personal terms with young central midfielder Reagan Thomson, ahead of a potential move from Queen’s Park, according to Football Insider.
Despite interest from both Rangers and Celtic, Football Insider says the 16-year-old has now decided to join the Premier League club.
According to the report from Football Insider, Newcastle will pay less than £100,000 for the player’s signature.

The report claims that Thomson will join up with the club’s under-23s development squad and that’s a sensible decision from the Magpies. The player is clearly highly-rated in Scotland, having already made nearly a dozen starts at senior level, as per transfermarkt, despite being just 16 years of age.
He may already have tasted senior football, but the move from the Scottish League Two to the Premier League could be considered quite the jump for any player, let alone one so young.
While it’s not a major first-team signing, this could still be viewed as a coup for the club. Such is the stronghold that Rangers and Celtic have on Scottish football, missing out on one of the country’s younger talents could be seen as a blow to them both in the long run.
