Kalinic has found game time hard to come by in the Italian capital, and has only started once since moving on loan.

The Croatian hasn’t really got going since joining Atletico, only scoring two goals before being loaned at to Roma.

He has previous in England, previously playing for Blackburn Rovers over ten years ago.

Newcastle are in need of some attacking reinforcements, with Joelinton really struggling to get going since moving to the Toon from Hoffenheim.

Kalinic may not have the greatest goal record, but he has been a good asset for several sides, so could be a solid pickup for Steve Bruce.
