Newcastle eyeing summer deal for Lallana

Newcastle are eyeing up a summer swoop to sign Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana.

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle are keen on a deal for Lallana, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Lallana will be available on a free and the report claims that he will have plenty of offers on the table. This means that Newcastle will have a job on their hands convincing him to make the move to Tyneside.

He is a proven Premier League player with plenty of experience under his belt,  but his constant injury problems are a cause for concern. Should Newcastle be handing out big wages on another well-known name who is unreliable in regards to playing regularly?

It depends who else is available in the transfer market next summer. If Newcastle have the option to sign a younger player with potential, it would make more sense. Investing in the future is what Newcastle need to do if they want to progress as a club. You need to take gambles in the window in order to find great players, as Newcastle are not a club who can go out and spend £80m on a proven world-class player.
