These Newcastle fans react to Almiron’s performance against Villa

Newcastle lost 2-0 away to Aston Villa in the Premier League, thanks to goals from Conor Hourihane and Ezri Konsa.

Steve Bruce’s return to Villa Park had not gone how he wanted, with his team failing to impose themselves on the game. One player, in particular, who had not been up to the task was Miguel Almiron.

READ NEWCASTLE VERDICT

After 22 Premier League appearances for Newcastle, it is more than fair to say that Miguel Almiron is simply not good enough for this division. Zero goals and zero assists, whilst constantly giving the ball away through poor control or misplaced passes.

It is not acceptable at this level and Steve Bruce needs to give him a spell on the sidelines. Another forward should be given a chance to impress, as they can hardly do worse than Almiron is at present and it gives the Paraguayan an opportunity to be out of the firing line for a few matches and work hard on the training ground to improve.
