It’s an untimely blow for Steve Bruce’s side, who are just beginning to pick up a decent run of form in the Premier League.
The Magpies are unbeaten in three, with two important victories against West Ham and Bournemouth in recent weeks.
Lascelles has been ever-present for Newcastle this season, featuring in each of the club’s 12 Premier League games so far – scoring an important goal against Wolves along the way.
Newcastle were without Fabian Schar for the game against Bournemouth in what was the first of a two-game ban. While he’s missing once again for the meeting with Aston Villa, his return to the team will be a huge boost to Bruce.
