Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin has given a hilarious response to a Sunderland fan on Twitter.
The pacey summer-signing was one of the standout performers during the 3-2 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium last weekend.
He was placed in Alan Shearer’s Premier League Team of the Week and quote tweeted it, showing his gratitude at being included. A Sunderland fan questioned his inclusion by saying he had ‘no goals or assists’. This was Saint-Maximin’s hilarious response.

The Tweet by the Sunderland fan has since been deleted and rightly so. Saint-Maximin seems to already know the intense rivalry between the two clubs and this just makes him even more popular amongst the Magpies’ fans.
Saint-Maximin is really active on social media, which has its positives and negatives too.
However, he has definitely been a breath of fresh air for the club and for the fans, who will be hoping he can open his Newcastle account as soon as possible.
