Newcastle centre-back Fabian Schar is poised to miss the club’s trip to face West Ham in the Premier League this weekend.
Schar was absent as Newcastle held Wolves to a 1-1 draw last week after suffering a knee injury, and is now set to watch on from the sidelines against West Ham.

READ NEWCASTLE VERDICT
Schar is, of course, a huge blow for Newcastle after starting every one of the club’s first nine Premier League matches. The centre-back is excellent at reading the play and make blocks and interceptions to keep out opposition attackers, which Newcastle will miss with him out of the team.
Federico Fernandez started in his place against Wolves and did an admirable job, but Steve Bruce will surely be wanting his Swiss international back as quickly as possible. With another international break next month, Schar will have some time off to fully recover from his knock.
