Newcastle are reportedly interested in a potential deal to sign Strasbourg midfielder Ibrahima Sissoko in January.
Steve Bruce’s side have discussed a possible £10.5m fee for Sissoko, but are yet to reach an agreement with the French side.

READ NEWCASTLE VERDICT
Sissoko is only 22 and is already a regular for Strasbourg in Ligue 1, which suggests that he has quite a bright future ahead of him. However, Newcastle have plenty of options in the middle of the park and bringing in another should not be of desperate importance to the club.
Instead, Newcastle should focus on trying to sign an attacking midfielder, winger or striker to bolster their forward options. Newcastle have only scored six goals in 10 games, which suggests that they are not good enough going forward in the Premier League.
