Newcastle are one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in Czech international midfielder Alex Kral ahead of the January window.
According to Sport Cz, via HITC, Newcastle, Burnley and Norwich have all been watching Kral this season as they weigh up a swoop.
Kral joined Spartak Moscow in the summer from Slavia Prague in a £10m deal, but is already attracting interest from the Premier League which could end his spell in Russia after just six months.

Do Newcastle need him?

Not really. Newcastle are well stocked in the midfield area, with Jonjo Shelvey, Sean Longstaff, Isaac Hayden, Ki and Matty Longstaff all able to play as one of Steve Bruce’s two holding midfielders. This means that there is no urgent need for another holding player to be brought in during the January window.
Newcastle have only scored six goals in their 10 Premier League matches so far this season, which suggests that they would be better off trying to sign attacking players in the winter window to bolster their forward line. Miguel Almiron and Joelinton have managed one goal and zero assists between them this season, so Newcastle could bring in some competition for their positions.
