Hull City are poised to offer Newcastle transfer target Jarrod Bowen a new three-year deal in an attempt to ward off January interest.
According to The Hull Daily Mail, Newcastle and Southampton are both keen on Bowen, but Hull are looking to keep him at the club beyond the end of the January transfer window.
The report claims that they are set to offer him a bumper contract extension to keep him at Hull until the end of the season, at least.

Should Newcastle move on to other targets?

It might be the only choice they have. With Newcastle currently fighting at the wrong end of the table, Bowen may decide that he is better off staying at Hull and waiting for a bigger club to come in with an offer.
Bowen has already scored eight goals in 14 games for Hull in the Championship this season, which suggests that he would be a great signing for Newcastle if they could get him in. However, it would make it a far more difficult task for the Toon if Bowen opts to sign a new contract with Hull.
It could mean that they have to look elsewhere in the transfer window to bolster their attacking options.
