Newcastle have been joined by AC Milan and Bayern Munich in their pursuit of Lille forward Victor Osimhen.
According to a report in The Chronicle, Bayern and Milan are both interested in a potential January deal for Osimhen, who Newcastle have been scouting this season.
Osimhen has scored eight goals already this season for Lille and has been capped six times by Nigeria at international level.

Does this end Newcastle’s chances of securing a deal?

Most likely. If there is serious interest from Milan and Bayern, why would he want to join Newcastle? They are two of the biggest clubs in world football, whilst Newcastle languish down near the bottom of the Premier League.
If Newcastle want to be able to attract that calibre of player, they need to show ambition and push up the table and start competing in the top-half. If they can do that, they may be able to tempt players like Osimhen into rejecting Milan and Bayern to join the Magpies in England.
Until that happens, though, it is unlikely that Osimhen – unless he is set on a move to the Premier League – would rather fight against relegation than win titles with Bayern in Germany.
