Newcastle avoided dropping into the bottom three over the weekend as they held Wolves to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
However, there were dealt a huge blow towards the end of the game as Sean Longstaff was sent off for a challenge on Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.

Although these Newcastle fans are siding with their own player, it was a clear red card – as the on-field referee and VAR agreed on. Longstaff does initially win the ball but his follow-through is dangerous and his studs go through Neves’ ankle.
This now opens the door for Isaac Hayden to return to the team, having now served his three-game suspension for his red card against Leicester in Newcastle’s 5-0 drubbing last month. Hayden will now be looking to make sure he impresses so that he can keep his place in the side once Longstaff’s suspension is over.
