It is always great to see that a player is happy and settled at Newcastle, despite results not going their way this season. The club are currently sat in the relegation zone after nine games, but Dubravka clearly feels that they will be able to avoid relegation down to the second tier.
The shot-stopper has been one of Newcastle’s most consistent players over the past 18 months and his willingness to sign a new deal is a big statement of intent. It shows that the club are able to keep hold of their top performers and bodes well for the future of their other key players – such as Fabian Schar, Matty Longstaff and Isaac Hayden.
