Carroll left West Ham after a series of injuries hampered his spell in London, and that seems to be an issue yet again with Newcastle. The forward missed the start of the season through injury and now looks set for another spell on the sidelines, with Joelinton poised to keep his place in the side for the foreseeable future.
Schar, however, is a less-expected blow. The Swiss centre-back has been superb for Newcastle this season and will be a huge loss for Steve Bruce’s team. He will be hoping that Schar only misses this weekend and is available the following week, given his impact on the team.
