Newcastle should allow Fernandez to leave if Yifang come in with an offer for the centre-back. With his contract expiring, Newcastle should jump at the chance to receive a fee for him – considering he is not a regular in the team.
The likes of Paul Dummett, Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark have all been ahead of him in the pecking order, with Florian Lejeune also on his way back from injury. It could be best for Fernandez to seek pastures new and link up with Benitez again, in China this time.
