READ NEWCASTLE VERDICT
Of course, any injuries to Chelsea’s best players is going to be a positive for Newcastle. It will give Newcastle a marginally better chance of picking up a result against Chelsea this weekend, which Steve Bruce will be delighted to hear – no doubt.
Kante has scored twice in four games from holding midfield, so Newcastle’s players will be glad to hear that they are unlikely to be facing him. The French international has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League in recent years, so it would be a huge boost for Newcastle if he does miss the match.
