Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden is reportedly set to sign a new contract with the club after being impressed by the summer signings.
According to The Chronicle, Hayden was considering his future at Newcastle but has now decided to stay at St. James’ Park.
The report claims that he has been pleased with the ambition shown by Newcastle during the transfer window, causing him to opt against leaving the club.

Is this a huge boost for Steve Bruce?

Yes. Despite his last performance – against Leicester – being one to forget, Hayden has been one of Newcastle’s better players in 2019. He is, usually, a rock at the base of the midfield and allows the forward players the freedom to express themselves in the final third.
A player of Hayden’s quality committing himself to the cause is a sign of intent and could inspire more of the club’s top performers to do the same. The likes of Fabian Schar, Martin Dubravka and Sean Longstaff could all follow suit if the club decide to offer them new deals as well.
However, Hayden does now have a job on his hands to win his place in the starting XI back after an impressive display from Matty Longstaff against Manchester United. Once Hayden is back from his suspension, he will need to work hard to break back into the side.
