The Premier League season is well underway and Newcastle are currently sitting 16th in the table.
After eight games, Newcastle have won two, drawn two and lost four – scoring five goals in that time.
Newcastle have beaten Tottenham and Manchester United, drawn with Watford and Brighton and lost to Norwich, Arsenal, Leicester and Liverpool.
Despite it only being October, clubs already appear to be looking ahead to the January transfer window. Newcastle centre-back Federico Fernandez is being linked with a potential move to Chinese side Dalian Yifang – who are managed by former Toon boss Rafa Benitez.
Fernandez is out of contract next summer and could leave on a free transfer, unless the club opts to let him leave for a cut-price deal in the winter window – with the defender not currently a regular in the team.
If he did leave, who could Newcastle sign to replace him? Here are some options…
