As we have seen many times in the past, Newcastle fans should not be getting their hopes up yet. Until a deal is signed, sealed and delivered, fans should expect Mike Ashley to still be the owner of Newcastle United.
Attendances have been dropping this season and a takeover could instil some much needed hope for the future, especially after the 1-0 win over Manchester United last weekend.
Instead of fighting against relegation, Newcastle should be looking towards the top half of the Premier League table. If the takeover is succesful and the club is able to take strides forward, who is to say that it is an unreasonable goal?
