These Newcastle fans react to Almiron’s dive against United

Newcastle recorded an impressive victory on Sunday as they beat Manchester United 1-0 at St. James’ Park.

Steve Bruce’s side are now sat 16th in the Premier League table heading into the international break, having previously been in the bottom three.

Despite the excellent result, there was one disappointing moment from Newcastle. Miguel Almiron was shown a yellow card in the second-half for a blatant dive, as he attempted to con the referee into winning a free-kick on the edge of the box.

Should Almiron be dropped?

Yes. Not only was he booked for diving, but he also missed two very presentable chances to notch his first goal for the club. He appears low on confidence and completely devoid of ideas in the final third, so much so that he would rather dive on the edge of the box than attempt a shot.

A spell on the sidelines could do him the world of good, with Steve Bruce having the likes of Dwight Gayle, Andy Carroll and Christian Atsu who he could call upon to take up his spot in the starting XI.
