Newcastle have been crying out for something to ignite their season and they may just have found their spark.
A 19-year-old, local boy, on his Premier League debut scoring the winner against Manchester United at home. This is the moment Newcastle needed to really kick-start their campaign and push them on for the rest of the year.
Steve Bruce will be delighted that the Longstaff brothers performed so well in midfield, especially given Isaac Hayden’s suspension and Jonjo Shelvey’s lack of form.
The pair could form a partnership to be reckoned with in midfield for the rest of the season, if they continue to turn in performances like that every week in the Premier League.
